Eric Dexter, Ph.D.

Eric Dexter is an award-winning research scientist with expertise in genomics, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and data science. He has authored 10 scientific papers, contributed an invited editorial in Science magazine, and is a frequent speaker at scientific conferences in North America, Europe, and Asia. His diverse research interests have centered on developing advanced statistical models to investigate the spread of invasive species, climate change impacts in rivers, the genetic basis of bacterial infection, and the structure of animal genomes, and other unique and challenging problems.

Eric’s work has received funding from notable organizations including the Ford Family Foundation, the U.S. Department of State Fulbright Program, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the European Commission. His contributions have been cited in peer-reviewed scientific publications over 250 times. Since 2019, Eric has been based in Switzerland, where he joined the University of Basel as a post-doctoral researcher and Marie Curie Fellow.

In 2023, driven by his long-standing enthusiasm for data science, Eric established Dexter Precision Analytics. This Switzerland-based consulting firm specializes in data science and bioinformatics, serving both academic and industry clients.
